Tonight saw the 2012 AGM of The York Astronomical Society, followed by an informal evening, which included discussions and presentations about local telescope shops, how to get kids making model rockets from waste materials, variable star measurement, remote imaging via the internet, and the story of how we acquired the society’s most recent telescope.
But the business part of the evening was the AGM itself, which consisted of reports from the outgoing Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. This was followed by the election of the new committee.
In a nutshell, the committee saw 3 changes to its ranks. Martin Dawson stood down as Treasurer, being replaced by Simon Howard. Martin Whipp stood down as Secretary, being replaced by Annette Newby, and Andy Lawson stood down a committee member, being replaced by Rupert Powell. The picture below shows the new committee as follows:

Rupert Powell, Richard Foleher, Paul Buglass, Simon Howard (Treasurer)
Hazel Collett (Meetings Secretary), Glen Berry (Chairman), Annette Newby (Secretary)
And now the boring bit, just for the record of who nominated who.
