Crescent Moon Watch

The crescent moon watch (or moon sighting) events usually take place on the day (24 hrs) after the New Moon Conjunction. The HMNAO Websurf data table below shows the Predicted Crescent Visibility for York in 2025. Considering the cloudy weather and the low altitude of the moon in the UK, only Visibility Code A or B are likely to be seen by the naked eye. Note also the direction of the moon (Azimuth) changes every month, swinging from South-West (Winter) to North-West (Summer)! Compass of Crescent Moon Directions from Beetle Bank Farm, York (2021)
